Der Freiburger Quincy Jointz ist ein weltweit angesehener Musikproduzent im Bereich NuFunk/Freestlye. Als DJ legt er europaweit auf. Für eine regelmäßige DJ-Nacht in Freiburg bleibt da wenig Zeit. Das Waldsee freut sich umso mehr, den umtriebigen Freiburger für eine regelmäßige DJ-Nacht gewinnen zu können - immerhin hat er schon häufig dort bei der legendären tageins-Nacht und bei "Moce to the Groove specials" sein Können unter Beweis gestellt. "Fresh & Funky" ist der Titel der neuen Veranstaltungsreihe ab Januar 2010 im Waldsee. Der Titel ist Programm: frische Musik und funky Grooves, zu denen man einfach tanzen muss. Wer keine Lust auf House-Music, Minimal und Electro hat, ist hier genau richtig.

DJ Quincy Jointz:

Dirk Schäfer aka Quincy Jointz ist einer der weltweit führenden Produzenten von NuFunk. Als Quincy Jointz und mit seinem Projekt “Geriba” (zusammen mit Jörn Disch) veröffentlicht er Musik bei den renommiertesten Plattenfirmen im Bereich NuFunk und Freestyle wie z.B. Funk Weapons Rec. (USA), Citrona Rec (USA), Aniligital Music (USA), Timewarp Music (Greece) und Innvision Rec (Österreich). Seine Musik wird von Top-DJs auf der ganzen Welt geschätzt. Fort Knox Five, Mo`Horizons, All Good Funk Alliance, Ursula 1000, Flow Dynamics, Andy Smith (Portishead-DJ), Ed Royal & DJ Enne etc. legen regelmäßig seine Songs und Remixe auf. Außerdem festigte er sich einen Platz in der Produzentenelite des NuFunk mit seinen Remixen für Acts wie De-Phazz, Ursula 1000, Tal M. Klein, Danny Massure, Timewarp Inc., Basement Freaks, Badboe, Nappy Riddem... Seit 2003 wird er für DJ-Gigs international gebucht und sorgt für begeisterte Tänzer in Europa (DJ-Gigs in Spanien, Ungarn, Österreich, Griechenland, Kroatien, Schweiz...). Mit seiner „International Freeridin´ Radioshow“ und der „Lime Sorbet Show“ ist Quincy Jointz eine der Schlüsselfiguren im NuFunk-Business.

Vita: Dirk Schaefer aka Quincy Jointz wurde am 14.09.1974 in Isny geboren. Mit 13 Jahren fing er an Platten aufzulegen. Im Alter von 14 Jahren bekam er seine erste wöchentliche DJ-Nacht im Jugendclub Bötzingen. Anfang der 90er spielte er dort eine wilde Mischung aus Hip Hop, Techno, House, Rock, Heavy Metal, Reggae und Rock´n´Roll. Mit 18 Jahren wechselte er in das “Point” in Emmendingen. Nach diversen anderen Club-Residenzen in und um Freiburg (Arche, Subway...) setzte er den Fokus auf funky und jazzy freestyle. So kam er auch zu seinem DJ-Namen “Quincy Jointz”. Er verbindet (to joint) verschiedene Musikstile von Hip Hop über Downbeats bis hinzu Drum´n´Bass zu einer funky und jazzy Mischung
Seit Mitte der 90er produziert Quincy Jointz auch eigene Musik – mehr oder weniger für sich und den Clubeinsatz. 2003 trifft er Jörn Disch und das Projekt “Geriba” wird geboren. Gleich mit der ersten EP (Guaranteed EP) auf dem amerikanischen Label Funk Weapons gelingt der Durchbruch.

Album "Heligoland"

Massive Attack have announced details of their fifth studio album ‘Heligoland’, due for release in February 2010. It features guest vocals from Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, Martina Topley-Bird, Guy Garvey and Tunde Adebimpe. Long time cohort Horace Andy makes a return alongside Massive Attack founding members Robert Del Naja and Grant Marshall. Damon also plays bass on ‘’Flat Of The Blade’ and keyboards on ‘Splitting The Atom’ while Portishead’s Adrian Utley plays guitar on ‘Saturday Come Slow’. The band also collaborated with DFA’s Tim Goldsworthy on selected tracks. The cover artwork features an original image by Robert Del Naja.

Over the last three years Robert Del Naja has written and produced soundtracks for a number of films and documentaries, including ‘Trouble In The Water’, ’44 Inch Chest’, ‘In Prison My Whole Life’ and ‘Gomorra’, the latter for which he won the David Di Donatello Award for Best Song.

This year Massive Attack won the Outstanding Contribution to British Music Award at the Ivor Novello Awards.
