Queen & Paul Rogers: Live in Ukraine
Review:
Im September 2008 gaben Queen + Paul Rodgers in Charkiw, der zweitgrößten Stadt der Ukraine, ein grandioses Benefiz-Konzert für die dortige Anti-Aids-Stiftng. Dramatischer Hintergrund: Die Ukraine hat die höchste Rate an HIV-Neuinfektionen in Europa. Das Konzert wird nun auf einer 120-minütigen DVD und Doppel-CD als Set präsentiert. Ein durchaus respektables Angebot auch für Leute, die nun nicht so die absoluten Queen-Fans sind: All die unvergänglichen Queen-Hits dargebracht von einer frisch und unverbraucht wirkenden Truppe um Brian May und Roger Taylor mit Ex-Free-Shouter Paul Rodgers als kraftvollem Frontman plus einer bewegenden Reminiszenz an Aids-Opfer Freddie Mercury plus einem Ausflug in die Greatest-Hits-Abteilung von Bad Company und Free („All Right Now“, „Feel Like Makin’ Love“ etc.) plus einem empathischen und begeistertem Publikum plus ausgezeichnetem Bild und Ton. Übrigens: Seinen legendären, schon artistischen Mikroständer-Hochwurf mit zielsicherem einhändigem Auffangen zelebriert der fitte Paul Rodgers so sicher wie vor über 30 Jahren.
