Review:
Hinter den Visioneers steckt einer der die Dance-Music in UK und weltweit enorm beeinflusst hat: Marc Mac. Er bildet zusammen mit Dego das legendäre Duo 4hero (man denke nur an den Albumklassiker „Two Pages“) und geschmackssicherer Wanderer zwischen den unterschiedlichsten Musikstilen. Er hat immer das richtige Händchen – egal ob es um Drum´n´Bass, Souliges (z.B. als Produzent von Terry Callier, Jill Scott & Roy Ayers) oder um Hip Hop geht. Letzterem geht er mit den Visioneers an. Das neue Album kommt im Stil eines Mixtapes daher und hat u.a. Features von Baron, Trac, John Robinson, Jimetta, die alle samt für ein abwechslungsreiches und gutes Album sorgen. Da sind soulful Hip Hop-Songs („Oil & Water“) genauso dabei, wie leicht Jazziges („Rocket Man“) und funky Stuff („Ice Cream on my kicks“).
Kein Album für die Hardcore-Fraktion, aber für alle anderen allemal. 13 tolle Songs.
